Move and Load Your Shoulders with Rafa Dominguez

Move and Load Your Shoulders with Rafa Dominguez
The scapulae float on your rib cage and have a sliding behavior similar to the kneecap on the knee, but much more multidirectional, allowing the transfer of information and connectivity from the hands, (grip and reach, pull and push) to the pelvis, and from there to the lower extremities. For this to be effective, the scapula must be able to glide smoothly over the ribs, in multiple directions, within its natural range of motion. For this, the forces and tensions that define where the scapula set, have to be in harmony . Explore this and more in this dynamic, 90-minute mat-based movement class with Spanish Polestar educator, Rafa Domínguez.

Live Data Labs - Learning the Art of Integral Facilitation As an ‘Engaged Observer’, join me in conversation with an experienced Polestar Pilates UK ‘Educator in Training’ to explore the true potential of integral facilitation. In each Live Data Lab both the EIT and I will explore - 1 piece of studio piece of equipment, 1 Polestar Pilates Studio movement and the live interconnected conversations taking place between the following perspectives - the I (the internal you), the IT (the body), the WE (you and the client) and the ITS (the external systems). Each of these four rich dimensions bring us vital data (information) which once noticed can be included in our teaching conversations to create optimal awareness, ease, flow, stability, motivation, joy and lasting change both physically and psychologically for us and the client. We will then have an opportunity to explore any questions/reflections in a 25mins Q&R at the end of each Lab. Learning outcomes…
    • Become an ‘Engaged Observer’ and a ‘Psychologically Fit, Integrative Communicator.’
    • Develop a flexible BodyMind attitude with an ability to move your awareness through multiple perspectives in any given moment.
    • Expand your (and support your client’s) BodyMind sensory communication repertoire through becoming more ‘aware of what is present’.
    • Develop deep listening skills to be able to self-reflect and track your inner and outer worlds to ignite more optimal decision making within your movement sessions and in life.
    • Recognise/appreciate the diversity of us as human beings and the rich complex systems that are constantly at play.
    • Develop a committed self-practice using integrative psychological fitness practices that will transform you as a teacher and your relationships with others. ‘Being and becoming your talk!’
    • Welcome what is naturally arising and accept each ‘mutual’ learning opportunity with an authentic intention to restore health and well-being.

Online Franklin Method™ Breathing for Life Workshop with Diane Nye

Online Franklin Method™ Breathing for Life Workshop with Diane Nye
What do we do in this life more than anything else? We breathe. If we learn to do it better, we improve most of what we do in life. We can easily get so confused from all the ways we've heard we can breathe better (belly breath? Chest breath?) In this workshop, we will learn to embody the design of our breathing anatomy - experiencing the diaphragm and so much more. Better breathing = calmer mental state, more energy, improved heart health/digestion, more endurance, ease in the spine and musculature (to name a few). But more importantly, it's how we experience life. A better breath = better life. £25.
