IMM Two-Day Certification Course London

Book Now

The Integral Movement Method (IMM) Certification Course is a two-day in-person training designed for movement and healthcare professionals working with clients living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD), and chronic pain.

Developed by Jeannie Di Bon, a leading hypermobility specialist and movement therapist, IMM offers a trauma-informed, “no pain, no strain” approach to movement that is rooted in the biopsychosocial model. This evidence-based method empowers practitioners to support clients with greater clarity, safety, and confidence.

Through a combination of didactic presentations, case study analysis, experiential labs, and guided IMM practice, participants will gain a deeper understanding of pain mechanisms, movement strategies, and nervous system regulation. Key topics include proprioception, breathwork, stability, balance, and integrated postural control.

This course equips professionals to apply IMM principles immediately within clinical or studio settings, while also offering the opportunity to become an IMM-certified practitioner listed on Jeannie Di Bon’s professional directory.

Day 1Saturday, Nov 7 (9:00 - 17:00 )
Day 2Sunday, Nov 8 (9:00-17:00)
*Please note: Participants who have not previously completed Understanding Hypermobility Zoom workshop will be required to attend the online session as a prerequisite.

By the end of the workshop, you will:

  • Pain mechanisms of hypermobility and how to manage them safely

  • Breath and relaxation techniques to regulate the nervous system

  • Strategies to build proprioception and stability without overloading the system

  • Safe introduction of balance work

  • New perspectives on postural control—both physical and emotional

  • Clinical reasoning for case-based programme design using IMM principles

The format blends didactic teaching, experiential movement practice, and small group learning. Case study analysis helps anchor the theory into real-world application. Short movement sessions are built into the weekend to embody the IMM principles first-hand.

Certification requirement: To complete the certification, participants submit an 8-week client programme plan for review. Successful graduates are listed in the IMM practitioner directory at jeanniedibon.com.

Prerequisite: All participants must complete the online workshop Understanding Hypermobility before attending this in-person course.

This workshop is ideal for:

  • Healthcare professionals supporting clients with EDS, HSD, or chronic pain

  • Physiotherapists, osteopaths, and other physical therapists looking to expand their toolkit

  • Pilates teachers, yoga instructors, and personal trainers seeking safer, more adaptive strategies

  • Movement professionals with a foundation in anatomy and client-centred practice

  • Anyone committed to offering inclusive, nervous system-aware care for complex conditions

*Please note: Participants who have not previously completed Understanding Hypermobility Zoom workshop will be required to attend the online session as a prerequisite.

This immersive two-day course includes 18 hours of teaching, combining theory, movement, and practical application.

Throughout the weekend, you’ll explore:

  • The physical, emotional, and psychological dimensions of hypermobility and chronic pain

  • How to apply a biopsychosocial approach to client care

  • Why traditional movement strategies may not work—and what to do instead

  • Practical tools for applying the Integral Movement Method (IMM) in clinical and movement settings

  • Understanding the pain mechanisms specific to hypermobility, and how to support clients safely

  • Breath and relaxation techniques to calm the nervous system

  • Building proprioception and postural control without overwhelm

  • Stability and balance training tailored for EDS and HSD

  • Integrated postural awareness—body and mind

  • Case study analysis and programme design

You’ll engage in:

  • Didactic presentations led by Jeannie Di Bon

  • Break-out group learning and discussions

  • Guided IMM-based movement sessions exploring each principle

Note: Movement participation is encouraged throughout. If you are unable to take part in the practical elements, please inform your instructor in advance.

Upon successful completion of the 6-hour in-person workshop, participants will receive an official Certificate of Attendance from Polestar UK, which can be used as proof of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for insurance, professional body recognition, or ongoing education records.

To gain IMM certification, you will submit an 8-week client programme based on a real or hypothetical case. Your submission will be assessed by Jeannie Di Bon. Successful participants will be listed in the official IMM practitioner directory at jeanniedibon.com.

To keep accreditation current, graduates need to complete 16 hours of Polestar training courses and/or workshops every two years as well as two hours of self-practise and 10 hours teaching each week.

Then all you do is complete this form and return to us having paid the appropriate renewal fee online HERE (£75 prior to expiry, £150 after expiry). We will then maintain your listing, as a currently accredited Polestar instructor in our “Find a Teacher” search HERE.

TIP: Check your certification expiry date and ensure you have completed your hours before that date! We run Polestar Advanced training courses and workshops so there are plenty of opportunities for you to complete your practice and hours.

If you have multiple certifications, these can be renewed on one form, for one fee with the necessary hours recorded once. Just remember to tick all the boxes that apply.

Prerequisite: All participants must complete the online workshop Understanding Hypermobility before attending this in-person course.
